FAQS
Blanket, Comforter and Duvet Difference
A comforter is a thick quilted bed cover designed to keep you warm. It’s quilted to prevent the fill from shifting from one side to the next side. A comforter is much larger than the bed mattress and should hang over the sides and cover the mattress.
Most blankets are just a strip of fabric, whereas a comforter is three layers of insulation, top and bottom fabric.and the fill between the fabrics.
Many people use the terms “comforter” and “duvet” interchangeably, but the two are different items. A comforter is made to be used with a top sheet and can also be the bed cover (bed spread).A duvet is meant to be used without a top sheet and blanket. Duvets should have a removable protector (cover) for easy care and laundering. This also allows you to change the “look” of your bedroom without having to buy a new comforter or bedspread. Most duvets are much thicker than the average comforter. A typical Duvet should be the same size as your mattress or can be slightly larger. But it shouldn’t overhang and cover the mattress sides.
A cover/protector for a duvet or comforter acts like a pillowcase. You put it over the comforter/duvet for protection. Some covers use a zipper, while others a have series of buttonsat the foot end for closure.
It’s recommend to wash your bedding once a week to keep dust mites down. However, comforters and duvets are bulky pieces that may not fit in your washer. To save from paying for a professional cleaning every week, if you use a cover, you can wash that once a week. Then you only need to clean your comforter/duvet once or twice a year.
It consists of a comforter/duvet, a cover with matching decorative pillowcases or decorative pillow shams.
Unlike mattress sizes, comforter sizes are not standardized. Brands may differ in the length and width of their comforters. Our table below lists a typicalrange of western sizes.

Throws are typically thin quilted blankets used as a cover while sitting in a chair or sofa.
Quilted Blankets can be used on the bed or sofa so you can snuggle up and keep warm while reading a good book or watching TV. They are much thinner than the normal comforter and can be used as your bed cover in warmer climates.
